Being Wrong On The Internet

There's a tongue-in-cheek saying: If you want advice from the internet, don't ask for advice. Just post something wrong, and people will rush in to correct you.

Along those lines, I found a great way to discover tools, products, and combinations thereof to solve the occasional tech problem: I don't search for "tool that solves problem X". Instead, I tell the product discovery agent of the nWave.ai set of Claude Code Agents that I want to build a tool that solves problem X. It gets to work asking a bunch of clarifying questions (what I want this for, etc.) and then, most of the time, comes back with quite a few sharp questions, mostly along the lines of: "Well... we could build that tool, but have you tried this?"

Let's face it: Most of the ideas for something that you could vibe-code really quickly are not groundbreaking and original, and therefore almost certainly exist in the vast universe of free and/or open-source apps. What's neat is that the research agent goes deeper than looking for a single app alternative and instead considers the whole workflow, based on pointed questions at how you'd realistically use it.

Try it out next time you're looking for a tool or solution!

(And if it fails, maybe it is time to (vibe) code it?)
